======SERIAL SOFTWARE UPGRADE AND RECOVERY PROCEDURE======




//NOTE: This upgrade should be done on an inactive network//



**1.** Three files are needed to complete this procedure. The three files needed are **Ldra07.bin, Update.exe**, and the upgrade file **itself pshXX_YY.bin.** The XX_YY will be replaced with the actual software version being installed. The **Update.exe** and **Ldra07.bin** files can be found in the **suu02_00.exe** and when extracted, provides these files.


**2.** Copy all three files into the same directory and then run the **pshXX_YY.exe** file. The **pshXX_YY.exe** when executed will expand and provide the upgrade file **pshXX_YY.bin**


**3.** Verify all three files Ldra07.bin, Update.exe, and pshXX_YY.bin are copied into the same directory 

**4.** Attach a null modem cable (as described in the SuperStack II PS Hub Users Guide in Appendix A) between the COM port on the computer and the console port on the SuperStack II PS Hub 40 


**5.** Do a clean boot to DOS (preferably with a DOS 6.22 bootable diskette). This procedure will not work if in Microsoft Windows 95 or Microsoft Windows NT and shut down and restart in MSDOS       mode is done. Only do this with an old fashion DOS bootable diskette. 

**6.** Once at a clean boot to DOS change directory to the directory which contains the three required files which are Ldra07.bin, update.exe, and **pshXX_YY.bin** 


**7.** Once in the directory which has the update.exe, Ldra07.bin, and pshXX_YY.bin, type the following command: 


  * Example: update -c 1 psh02_10.bin The -c 1 represents the COM port the null modem cable is attached to. If connecting to COM 2 replace the 1 with a 2 after the -c and then hit enter. 

**8.** As soon enter is pressed something like will appear on the monitor: 

  * NOTE: The remainder of the steps to complete this procedure will be displayed on the monitor
