**Symptoms:**

  * What are the 4 Default Firewall rules

  * Any Firewall rules for basic services  


 
**Facts:**
  *Default Firewall rules  
  *X Family  
  *X5  
  *X506  
 

**Causes:** The X Family firewalls have 4 default firewall rules, those rules are there to facilitate basic services. 
 
 

**Fixes:** Here follows the 4 Default Firewall rules (by order in which they are processed by the Firewall):



**1.** Rule 1  (Allow LAN unrestricted access to WAN): 

  * Action: Permit
  * Source Zone: LAN
  * Dest Zone: WAN
  * Service: ANY

**2.**   Rule 2 (Allow VPN Termination):

  * Action: Permit
  * Source Zone: WAN
  * Dest Zone: this-device
  * Service: vpn-protocols


**3.** Rule 3  (Allow Management access from LAN): 

  * Action: Permit
  * Source Zone: LAN
  * Dest Zone: this-device
  * Service: management


 

**4.**   Rule 4 (Allow DNS and DHCP from LAN):

  * Action: Permit
  * Source Zone: LAN
  * Dest Zone: this-device
  * Service: network-protocols
