======CANNOT ASSIGN A NAM RULE TO A BUILT IN GROUP======




**Problem:**
  * Can not assign a NAM Rule to a "**Builtin**" group 
  * Builtin groups not available in NAM.  
 
**Fact:**
  * Network Access Manager 
  * Network Director v2.0 
  * EMS 
  * Network Access Manager 1.2 
  * 3C15510 
  * NAM 
  * Builtin Group 
  * Standard group 
 
**Cause:** Due to a restriction within Microsoft Active Directory it is not possible to assign Network Access Manager Rules to a “**Builtin**” group such as the “**Administrators**” group or the “**Users**” group.  
 
**Fix:** Therefore to associate members of the “**Builtin**” groups with a NAM Rule you must use the Microsoft Active Directory Users and Computers tool to first create a security group and then make the builtin group a member of the newly created group. Then assign the appropriate NAM Rule to the newly created group.
