======LOST PASSWORD ON LOGIN AT THE CONSOLE PORT======

**Symptoms:**
  * Cannot get in to the unit  
  * Lost Password  
  * Forgot the password  
  * Unable to bypass the login  




**Facts:** SuperStack II Remote Access System 1500  
  * Password  forget
  * Hyperterminal to the console port asks for a login  
 
**Fixes:** Copy the RAS1500 software files from your CD (rasboot.dmf and ras1500.dmf) to your hardrive, access the console by using Hyperterminal with the following settings: 38400 8,N,1 

**1.** Power Cycle the unit 

**2.** When the "Initializing" message is displayed, press the Escape key three times in succession to bypass diagnostics and start the SDL2 code 

**3.** When the "SDL2 is ready" message appears (followed by a list of AT commands), type AT{Z}, then press Enter, A "Begin download now" message appears 

**4.** From the "Transfer menu", select "Send File", the "Send File" dialog box appears 

**5.** Click "Browse", the "Select File" to Send dialog box appears 

**6.** In the directory where you unzipped the files, locate rasboot.dmf 

**7.** Select the "rasboot.dmf" file, then click "Open". The "Send File" dialog box appears again 

**8.** Click "Send" The download process starts. A progress indicator appears. When the download process is complete, the boot process begins 

**9.** When the "Initializing" message is displayed, press the Escape key three times in succession to bypass diagnostics and start the SDL2 code. 

**10.** When the "SDL2 is ready" message appears (followed by a list of AT commands), type AT{Z}, then press Enter. A "Begin download now" message appears 

**11.** From the Transfer menu, select "Send File" The Send File dialog box appears 

**12.** Click "Browse" The "Select File" to Send dialog box appears 

**13.** In the directory where you unzipped the files, locate "ras1500.dmf" 

**14.** Select the "ras1500.dmf" file, then click "Open" the Send File dialog box appears again 

**15.** Click Send, the download process starts. A progress indicator appears, when the download process is complete, the boot process finishes and automatically reboots with the new software 

**16.** Run through Quick Setup  

If the above process fails you will need to Re-flash the code on the Ras1500 

//Note: This procedure will set the unit back to factory default settings and will ERASE your previous configuration//
