======HOW TO RECOVER FROM A LOST SYSTEM PASSWORD======
 
**Problem:**

  * How to recover from a lost SYSTEM password 
  * Lost password 
  * Forgot password 
  * Password is unknown 
  * Do not know system password 

**Fact:**

  * Wireless LAN Switches and Controllers 
  * Wireless LAN Switch WX1200 
  * Wireless LAN Controller WX4400 
  * Wireless Switch Manager 
  * Wireless LAN Managed Access Point 2750 
 
**Cause:** Password cannot be recovered so a reset to default values needs to be done to regain access 
 
**Fix:** __Recovery Procedure:__

**1)** Need to reboot the 3WXM switch and having console access

**2)** After rebooting the 3WXM, there will be a prompt to stop the rebooting process by typing a **"q"** followed by the **ENTER**. 

3) At the prompt **"boot>"**, type the following command: **boot  OPT+=default**

__NOTE:  Execution of the above command will result in the loss of any configuration that was previously defined.__
