======HOW TO RECOVERY FROM A LOST SYSTEM PASSWORD======

**Symptoms:** 
  * How to recover from a lost SYSTEM password  
  * Reset Password  
  * Lost enable password  
  * Lost password  
  * Forgot password  
  * Password is unknown  
  * Do not know system password  
 

 
**Facts:** 
  * Wireless LAN Switches and Controllers  
  * Wireless LAN Switch WX1200  
  * Wireless LAN Controller WX4400  
  * Wireless Switch Manager  
  * Wireless LAN Managed Access Point 2750  
 
 
**Causes:**

  * Password cannot be recovered so a reset to default values needs to be done to regain access

**Fixes:** 

Recovery Procedure:

**1.-** Need to reboot the 3WXM switch and having console access

**2.-** After rebooting the 3WXM, there will be a prompt to stop the rebooting process by typing a "q" followed by the ENTER. 

**3.-** At the prompt "boot>", type the following command:  boot  OPT+=default

//NOTE:  Execution of the above command will result in the loss of any configuration that was previously defined.//
