**Goal:** Factory reset hp devices

**Stage:** HPE 5500 Swhit Series

**We go to the directory**



We go to the directory of the unit with the next command line:


  <5500G-EI>dir
  Directory of unit1>flash:/

     2 (*)   -rw-    995524  Jun 24 2010 10:22:12   s4i06_05.web

  (*) -with main attribute   (b) -with backup attribute
  (*b) -with both main and backup attribute



**Delete the flash unit**


**Note: delete all files with extensions .txt and .cfg**

  Delete unit1>flash:/upc.txt?[Y/N]:y
  ..

  Clear flash:/upc.txt ?[Y/N]:y

**Apply the following command line to restore the saved configuration**

  <5500G-EI>reset saved-configuration

  Unit1 file does not exist!
  <5500G-EI>dis star
  <5500G-EI>dis startup
  UNIT1:

    Next backup startup saved-configuration file:      NULL
    Bootrom-access enable state:                       enabled



**Check the directory again and verify that there are no saved configuration files**
