======IS HOP ON/OFF SUPPORTED USING VIRTUAL TIE LINES====== **Symptoms:** * Hop on from the PSTN at one site route the call across a VTL connection and hop off to the PSTN * Hop on/off via Virtual Tie Lines (VTL)s * Cannot get the VTLs to do Hop On and then Hop Off * Ring no answer **Facts:** * SuperStack 3 NBX * NBX 100 * NBX R4_1 * NBX R4_0 * Virtual Tie Lines (VTL) * Hop off * Hop On **Causes:** * No password * Dial Plan configured incorrectly * VTL ports not assigned to the PreTranslator **Fixes:** The NBX does not support VTLs over the Public Internet. Configuring the dial plan for Hop On and Hop Off is left up to the administrator or user configuring the system. 3COM accepts no liability with any dial plans configured that could potentially lead to Toll Fraud. The NBX supports the functionality of VTLs "Only" over Private Networks Considerations: * 1. Latency <100 msec round trip maximum * 2. Jitter * 3. Bandwidth (110k per call) * 4. Licenses for VTL and IP * 5. Make sure the VTL ports are in the PreTranslator Device Using list at the Hop Off NBX * VTL Password ( Click here for setting up a VTL password ) * Internal Extension to PRI via VTLs ( Click here for hopping off another site via a VTL connection ) **VTL Hop On/Off notes** * 1. Make sure the COS is enabled for WAN at the Hop On NBX * 2. Make sure the password is configured on the NBX that the calls are hopping off * 3. Below are examples only. Any digits other than 9 or 91 can be used so that this does not conflict with local NBX requirements. The digits will have to be manipulated at the Hop Off NBX. * 4. Recommend having the incoming calls for the Hop On NBX go to a receptionist to screen the calls. The receptionist can then call an enternal number off the Hop Off NBX and conference the two parities together. **Example of the dial plan entries for Hop On** TableEntry Create 1 13 9 11 11 WAN 0 6 TableEntry Create 1 10 91 12 12 WAN 0 7 DestinationRoute Create 6 VTL Hopoff Local DestinationRoute Create 7 VTL Hopoff Long Distance DestinationRouteEntry Create 6 1 *0006 DestinationRouteEntry Create 7 1 *0006 DestinationRouteOperation Create 6 1 1 prepend 10*210*29*98* DestinationRouteOperation Create 7 1 1 prepend 10*210*29*98*12345678* **Example of the dial plan entries for Hop Off** TableEntry Create 1 11 9 11 11 Local 0 1 TableEntry Create 1 14 91 9 12 LongDistance 0 1 DestinationRoute Create 1 LocalCO DestinationRouteEntry Create 1 1 *0002 DestinationRouteOperation Create 1 1 1 stripLead 1 PreTranslator Create 3 VTL HOPOFF PreTranslatorEntry Create 3 1 10*210*29*98*95083232482 PreTranslatorEntry Create 3 2 10*210*29*98*12345678*915083232482 PreTranslatorOperation Create 3 1 1 stripLead 13 PreTranslatorOperation Create 3 2 1 stripLead 22 VTL Calls can also be forwarded via an extension's Call Forwarding for such an occasion as being out of the office and forwarding to your cell phone. * Product(s): NBX * Sub Product(s): NBX 100, NBX Operating System, SuperStack 3 NBX --- //[[nce@itclatam.com|David Gonzalez]] 2021/04/10 10:02//
