UNIT RESET TO FACTORY DEFAULTS

Symptoms:

Fixes:

• WARNING:The Reset of the X Family Firewall to Factory Default values using the Debug procedure described below will:

1. Revert the TOS operating system version back to what was installed at the factory. After the Reset the unit will need to be upgraded back to the desired TOS version.
2. Reset the unit to Factory default values . All configuration will be lost. The unit will revert to a default LAN IP address of https://192.168.1.254
3. Revert to Low Encryption only. After the Reset the unit will need to have the Strong Encryption Package re-installed, if needed (3DES support). You may need to download this again from the 3Com web site by completing the Trade & Compliance form.

Here follows the steps to Reset the unit to the Factory Default values:

• From the CLI, (console is 115200,8,N,1) issue the following command debug factory-reset
• Type COMMIT (all caps) to confirm factory reset
