UNIT RESET TO FACTORY DEFAULTS

Symptoms:

• Unit Reset to Factory Defaults

  Fixes:

• WARNING:The Reset of the X Family Firewall to Factory Default values using the Debug procedure described below will:
• Revert the TOS operating system version back to what was installed at the factory. After the Reset the unit will need to be upgraded back to the desired TOS version.
• Reset the unit to Factory default values . All configuration will be lost. The unit will revert to a default LAN IP address of https://192.168.1.254
• Revert to Low Encryption only. After the Reset the unit will need to have the Strong Encryption Package re-installed, if needed (3DES support). You may need to download this again from the 3Com web site by completing the Trade & Compliance form.

  Here follows the steps to Reset the unit to the Factory Default values:

• From the CLI, (console is 115200,8,N,1) issue the following command debug factory-reset

  • Type COMMIT (all caps) to confirm factory reset
