RESOLVING VOICE PAGING ISSUES

Symptoms:

Changes:

Facts:

Causes:

Fixes: The following must be true in order for paging to work in IP Serve mode or IP On-the-Fly mode:

1. Valid (configured and pingable) Gateway on the NCP lan segment

2. Standard IP or IP On-the-Fly license installed correctly as seen via Licensing Tab in Tab-To-It

3. Paging port(s) not in use

Have you recently installed an IP license and booted the NBX in the IP mode (versus Ethernet) and now paging does not work? If your gateway (router) is not “ready” yet, paging may not work, even on phones local to the NCP segment. Keep the system booted in Ethernet Only mode until your gateway is configured and pingable, and the correct subnet mask and gateway IP settings are properly added in NetSet. Only then boot into IP mode from Ethernet Only mode.

Add valid addresses to the IP Addresses list for IP On-the-Fly

To fix the voice paging:

1. Open NetSet using administrator username and password

2. In System Settings > System Wide, change Network Protocol to Ethernet Only, or

3. In System Settings > System Wide, configure a valid Default Gateway address, and

4. In Operations > Reboot/Shutdown, restart the NBX to activate either of the above changes

5.

Note: Refer to the NBX Administration Guide for additional information.
