CANNOT ASSIGN A NAM RULE TO A BUILT IN GROUP
Problem:
- Can not assign a NAM Rule to a “Builtin” group
- Builtin groups not available in NAM.
Fact:
- Network Access Manager
- Network Director v2.0
- EMS
- Network Access Manager 1.2
- 3C15510
- NAM
- Builtin Group
- Standard group
Cause: Due to a restriction within Microsoft Active Directory it is not possible to assign Network Access Manager Rules to a “Builtin” group such as the “Administrators” group or the “Users” group.
Fix: Therefore to associate members of the “Builtin” groups with a NAM Rule you must use the Microsoft Active Directory Users and Computers tool to first create a security group and then make the builtin group a member of the newly created group. Then assign the appropriate NAM Rule to the newly created group.
