UPGRADE VIA RS232

The first thing that should be made is to have the file of upgrade of the SuperStack. For the upgrade to the version 2.64, it's necessary to have the following files where XX and YY corresponds to the version number, for this case 2_64:

Update.exe  
Ldr_b02.bin  
Ldr_b02.err  
S2sXX_YY.bin (For this case: s2_s02_64.bin)  

Connect the serial port from your PC to the port of the switch using a Cable Null Modem.

Start a DOS session in your PC. He/she can carry out it through the menu of beginning of Windows executing the command command like leave in the following figure:

Get into the directory where the files mentioned in the first item of this procedure are located. Execute the following command:

Update s2s02_XX.bin [enter] 

Next, an information message will appear. Turn off the Switch will in this instant, press [enter] to initialize the process of upgrade.

Once you have pressed [enter], wait until the communication speed changes to 19200 and then plug the Switch to the power source.

Wait until the whole process has finished and never stop this process, this could cause bigger damages in the Switch.

Once the upgrade has finished, enter the main menu of the switch with the user admin and the password “Enter

Once located in the main menu confirm the new version of the switch entering the command sys dis [enter], like below:

 ip - Administer IP  
 logout - Logout of the Command Line Interface
