FAILED TO STAR MOONITORING SERVICE COMPONENT
Problem: Failed to start monitoring service component
- Rogue Detection cannot be started
- 3WXM must be un-installed and re-installed to be able to start Rogue Detection
- Wireless LAN Switches and Controllers
- Wireless LAN Switch WX1200
- Wireless LAN Controller WX4400
- Wireless Switch Manager
- Wireless LAN Managed Access Point 2750
Fact: Rogue Detection
Cause: One of the files in the service-db directory may be busy and thus preventing the Rogue Detection service from being started.
Fix: Execute the following steps to regain monitoring ability.
- 1. Shut down the 3WXM application.
- 2. You now must stop the 3WXM process using the steps from your PC control panel:
ControlPanel>Administrative Tools>Services>3WXM Services and select Stop
- 3. Access the directory services for 3WXM:
C:Program Files->3Com->Wireless Switch Manager->services-db
…and delete the contents in the directory services-db. DO NOT however, delete the actual directory services-db.
- 4. Once the contents of the directory have been deleted, restart the 3WXM:
ControlPanel>Administrative Tools>Services>3WXM Services and select Start
- 5. Execute now the 3WXM application. It may take a couple minutes for the application to get back up.
- 6. If the above is not successful, re-enable the password on the switch from the 3WXM.“”
