HOW DO I CONFIGURE THE INTERNAL INTERFACES?
Symptoms:
- How do I configure the Internal Interfaces?
Facts:
- High Availability
- X5
- X506
- X505
- Internal Interfaces
Causes:
- There is some confusion in both the Online Help and in the paper documentation over the configuration of the internal interfaces on a High Availability pair of X-family devices.
Fixes: In an X-family HA pair, internal interface(s) that are in use for any purpose - even if only for HA communication between the two devices - should be configured as a Virtual Interfaces with shared IP address and HA IP address.
X-family devices in a High Availability pair can have internal interfaces with NAT enabled (“NAT'd”) or NAT disabled (routed).
- Product(s): X Family
- Sub Product(s): X5, X506
