AOS-CX Simulator Lab - OSPFv2 Areas - Basics
AOS-CX Simulator Lab - OSPFv2 Areas - Basics
Lab Objective
The OSPF (Open Shortest Path Protocol) is one of the most popular routing protocols for IP Networks. It uses a link state routing (LSR) algorithm which is performed by every switch router mode in the network. OSPF leverages areas and it is these area concepts that form the basis of the LAB which introduces the 'Backbone area', 'Regular Areas' including Stub areas and not so stubby areas.
This lab should be considered as a basic OSPFv2 lab as an introduction to the configuration and operation of OSPF on Aruba CX switches. At the end of this workshop you will be able to understand and configure ospf areas, understand basic ospf metric calculations of routes, simple route redistributions and the use of stub areas and NSSAs (Not so stubby areas).

AOS-CX Simulator Lab - OSPF v2 Features
AOS-CX Simulator Lab - OSPF v2 Features
Lab Objective
The OSPF (Open Shortest Path Protocol) is one of the most popular routing protocols for IP Networks. It uses a link state routing (LSR) algorithm which is performed by every switch router mode in the network.
This lab should be considered as a basic OSPFv2 lab as an introduction to the configuration and operation of OSPF on Aruba CX switches.
This workshop introduces OSPF features relating to the use of virtual links and options for using encrypted password between OSPF neighbors for authentication. Other configurations involve the use of the 'passive interface ' command and the 'default-information originate' command.
The list of features presented in this lab is a very small snapshot of the OSPF features available within the CX software and a comprehensive view of all OSPF features available can be found in the documentation guides from the Aruba Support Portal.

AOS-CX Simulator Lab - RIPng
Lab Objective
This lab will provide hands on experience with IPv6 addressing and RIPng routing.
RIPng is an alternative routing protocol to OSPFv3/BGP, it is suitable for smaller networks and does not require an IPv4 router-ID unlike OSPFv3/BGP.
In this lab, you will:
- Provide IPv6 connectivity between the 2 hosts across the IPv6 network.
- Implement RIPng with Equal Cost Multi Pathing (ECMP) to correctly provide network connectivity to the Loopbacks on Switch2 and Switch3 from the hosts.
