======FACTORY RESET HPE DEVICES======

**Goal:** Factory reset hp devices

**Stage:** HPE 5500 Swhit Series

=====Procedure step to step=====


**We go to the directory**



We go to the directory of the unit with the next command line:


  <5500G-EI>dir
  Directory of unit1>flash:/
  
     1 (*)   -rw-   5881013  Jun 23 2010 16:54:35   s4c03_03_02s168p11.app
     2 (*)   -rw-    995524  Jun 24 2010 10:22:12   s4i06_05.web

  15367 KB total (8628 KB free)
  
  (*) -with main attribute   (b) -with backup attribute
  (*b) -with both main and backup attribute



**Delete the flash unit**


**Note: delete all files with extensions .txt and .cfg**

  <5500G-EI>delete unit1>flash:/
  <5500G-EI>delete upc.txt
  Delete unit1>flash:/upc.txt?[Y/N]:y
  ..
  %Delete file unit1>flash:/upc.txt...Done.

  <5500G-EI>reset recycle-bin
  Clear flash:/upc.txt ?[Y/N]:y
  Clearing files from flash may take a long time. Please wait...
  ..
   %Cleared file unit1>flash:/~/upc.txt.
  <5500G-EI>dir
  Directory of unit1>flash:/

**Apply the following command line to restore the saved configuration**

  
  <5500G-EI>reset sa
  <5500G-EI>reset saved-configuration
  The saved configuration will be erased.

  Configuration in flash memory is being cleared.
  Please wait ...

  Unit1 file does not exist!
  <5500G-EI>dis star
  <5500G-EI>dis startup
  UNIT1:
    Current Startup saved-configuration file:          NULL
    Next main startup saved-configuration file:        flash:/upc.cfg
    Next backup startup saved-configuration file:      NULL
    Bootrom-access enable state:                       enabled



**Check the directory again and verify that there are no saved configuration files**
