factory reset a SonicWall device using the CLI
The factory default username and password for a SonicWall device is “admin” and “password”. The default IP address is 192.168.168.168.
To factory reset a SonicWall 370 using the console, you can:
- Log in to the switch console
- config term
- Enter the command “restore-defaults”
- Select “Y” to confirm
You can also factory reset a SonicWall 370 using the GUI:
- Navigate to Device > Settings > Firmware & Settings
- Click Create Backup and select Local Back up
- Click the drop-down arrow for the boot option for the current firmware
- Click Boot current firmware with Factory Default Configuration
To factory reset a SonicWall device using the CLI, you can use the reinitializetofactorysettings command. You can also perform a factory reset by entering a series of commands to boot the device with default settings.
Steps to perform a factory reset using the CLI:
- Log in to the device's CLI
- Enter the reinitializetofactorysettings command
