factory reset a SonicWall device using the CLI
To factory reset a SonicWall device using the CLI, you can use the reinitializetofactorysettings command. You can also perform a factory reset by entering a series of commands to boot the device with default settings.
Steps to perform a factory reset using the CLI:
- Log in to the device's CLI
- Enter the reinitializetofactorysettings command
- The device will reboot and return to factory default settings
Steps to perform a factory reset using a series of commands:
- Select the highlighted entry, which is usually “SonicCore X”
- Select r to enter recovery mode
- Enter 0 to enable maintenance mode
- Enter the maintenance key
- Select 5 to boot the device with default settings
- The device will reboot and return to factory default settings
You can also perform a factory reset using the device's GUI.
