NBX ETHERNET PHONES LOSE TIME

Symptoms:

  • NBX ethernet phones keep losing time
  • Phone display has wrong time
  • IP phones has wrong time

Facts:

  • NBX 100
  • NBX Operating System
  • NBX 100 R2_0_7
  • NBX 1102 Business Phone 10 Mb
  • NBX Basic Phone
  • NBX 100 R3_0
  • NBX Chassis

Causes: Time is set on phones via multicast packets

Fixes: This problem should be resolved in NBX 100 version R4.0 Try doing the following:

1- Disable IGMP in all switches

2- Enable IGMP and DVMRP in all routers

3- Reset phone to effect network configuration changes
