UPGRADE FIRMWARE BY DELETING FLASH FILES

Symptoms:

  • How to Upgrade Firmware by Deleting Flash Files

  • Error: “MM-SRAM .DFM failed CRC test failed 11040000”
  • Problems during upgrade to 2.0.10 - Completes system execute sequence, then receives the following messages: “REG 0 X 0700 ERROR: ”(stack trace then 6 different hex addresses come up) - Message :“DEAD DEAD” and the RAS1500 Reboots

Fixes: Please access the console by using Hyperterminal with the following settings: 38400 8,N,1

1. Access the RAS 1500's command line interface (CLI) through a terminal program (such as HyperTerminal) that supports the ZMODEM transfer protocol

2. At the CLI prompt, type reboot, then press Enter to reboot the RAS 1500

3. Type Y, then press Enter to confirm the reboot procedure. The reboot procedure starts Note: If you do not get a prompt, please cycle the power of the unit

4. When the “Initializing” message is displayed, press the Escape key three times in succession to bypass diagnostics and start the SDL2 code

5. When the “SDL2 is ready” message appears (followed by a list of AT commands), type AT{E}, then press Enter

6. When the “Initializing” message is displayed, press the Escape key three times in succession to bypass diagnostics and start the SDL2 code

7. When the “SDL2 is ready” message appears (followed by a list of AT commands), type AT{Z}, then press Enter. A “Begin download now” message appears

8. From the Transfer menu, select Send File. The Send File dialog box appears

9. Click Browse. The Select File to Send dialog box appears

10. In the directory where you unzipped the files, locate rasboot.dmf

11. Select the rasboot.dmf file, then click Open. The Send File dialog box appears again

12. Click Send. The download process starts. A progress indicator appears. When the download process is complete, the boot process begins

13. When the “Initializing” message is displayed, press the Escape key three times in succession to bypass diagnostics and start the SDL2 code

14. When the “SDL2 is ready” message appears (followed by a list of AT commands), type AT{Z}, then press Enter. A “Begin download now” message appears

15. From the Transfer menu, select Send File. The Send File dialog box appears

16. Click Browse. The Select File to Send dialog box appears

17. In the directory where you unzipped the files, locate ras1500.dmf

18. Select the ras1500.dmf file, then click Open. The Send File dialog box appears again

19. Click Send. The download process starts. A progress indicator appears. When the download process is complete, the boot process finishes and automatically reboots with the new software
