NBX 100 SOFTWARE UPDATE PROCEDURE

OBJECT

The following document guides the people in charge of the control and administration of the 3Com NBX Telephony equipment. This contains information on the procedure for performing the software update for the NBX 100.

SCOPE

This document was designed to be used as a working tool for systems personnel directly related to the operation of the telephone system.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

It is important to follow the order of each of the installation and configuration standards described in this document in order to ensure the proper and normal operation of the equipment within the data network parameters.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • The NBX must be working in perfect condition.
  • Have the Administrator username and password.
  • Have the * .taz file that corresponds to the version you want to update (Do not unzip this file).
  • Access to the NBX NetSet Administrator Utility

SOFTWARE UPDATE PROCEDURE

Login to NBX administration via NetSet. Run an internet browser and in the http or address field, write the IP of the NBX, by default 192.168.1.190. Where the following screen appears. Click on Administrator and login with the administrator user. By default Administrator and password 0000

Then you will have access to the main options menu, as seen in the following image. Click on the Operations option as seen in the image

In the next screenshot you can see the Software Upgrade option, click on the Browser button.

In the next box select the path where the .taz file of the version you want to upload to the NBX is located. Click on the file and then click on open when you have the file selected.

Now we return to the Software Upgrade window, verify that the path where the file is located in the text box, as seen in the following image. And click on Upgrade.

From this moment on, the NBX will take some time to carry out this process. DO NOT interrupt this procedure until it completes successfully and you see the following message, click close.

Click on the Reboot / Shutdown option and in the Select Version field select the version that I just installed, as seen below. And click on the Reboot option.

A confirmation message like the following will appear, click Yes

When the NBX finishes rebooting, it will send you to the initial screen. Verify that the new version appears, as in the following drawing.
